PROJECT OVERVIEW
As part of the 2025 GlassRoots x Peters Valley Fellowship, I was given access to heritage craft facilities as well as incredible mentorship from distinguished and skilled craftspeople and artists from around the world.
I chose to spend this time honing my craft skills across multiple mediums, ranging from glass, to metalworking, to woodworking, with a secondary focus on creating work that tells a story across materials.
These efforts extended past the Fellowship, into a design course at Rutgers Newark SASN titled “Cross-Media” that works to create overarching narratives that are told through different and unique mediums.
The body of works culminates into a project titled “BonChance”, an immersive storytelling device sharing the fictional story of an eldritch cowboy by the same name traversing an eerie and bizarro alternate timeline of an American South ravaged by nuclear war.
Inspired by and akin to non-linear and liminal narrative approaches by the likes of David Lynch and Werner Herzog.
This project was a profound experience touched by countless talented and incredible craftspeople and artists. Without their knowledge of increasingly inaccessible art forms, this project would have never been realized.
A special thanks to my fellows, instructors, mentors, and all those who supported my process over the two-month span of this Fellowship.
